Sun-Drenched Panoramas: Our Multi-Facetted Region of Chestnuts and Wine
In Klausen/Chiusa, Feldthurns/Velturno, Villanders/Villandro, Barbian/Barbiano and Lajen/Laion, you can get experience a full measure of South Tyrol during your vacation. For one thing, this multi-facetted region is absolutely drenched with sunshine. The mid Eisack Valley / Val d'Isarco begins at a warm, southerly 500 meters above sea-level near Klausen/Chiusa, directly at the bed of the Eisack River. Vineyards and chestnut tree groves dominate the landscape. Farther up, the gently rolling mid-altitude plateau is to be found, a peaceful landscape dotted by churches, historic fortresses, and picturesque villages.
High above it all, at an elevation of 2,500 meters above sea-level, the Sarentine Alps and the extensive Villanders/Villandro Meadow are found on the one side of the valley. On the other side, the Dolomites begin.
Here, nothing is left to be desired: You can enjoy a fun-filled vacation amidst unspoilt natural landscapes – with biking, hiking, and mountain-climbing in the summertime and skiing in the wintertime. And a wide range of other delightful activities the whole year through..

Klausen/Chiusa: This cozy little artistic city with its medieval flair is located at an elevation of 500 meters above sea-level, directly on the bed of the Eisack River. What better place to enjoy the southern warmth, cappuccinos, and apple strudel than in the romantic and narrow shopping streets of our town?
Feldthurns/Velturno, Villanders/Villandro, Barbian/Barbiano: Above the valley, at an altitude of about 850 meters above sea-level, the multi-facetted villages of Feldthurns/Velturno, Villanders/Villandro, and Barbian/Barbiano lie on sunny, warm mid-altitude mountain terraces and slopes. Easy hiking trails and bike paths, chestnut tree groves, ancient fortresses, and monasteries connect the three villages. And above it all towers the Villanders/Villandro Meadow, one of the largest Alpine meadows of Europe.
Lajen/Laion: This town is located at an elevation of 1,100 meters above sea-level, on the slopes of the left-hand side of the valley. Here, the fresh mountain air is carried over directly from the Dolomites, which loom near. Legendary mountain resort areas like the Seiser Alm / Alpe di Siusi, the Gröden Valley / Val Gardena, and the Villnoess Valley / Val Venosta are within easy reach.
